Engineering hiring usually runs a parser before a person. The resume has to expose stack, ownership and scale in a document that still reads as a conventional CV — one column, standard headings, selectable text.
These software engineer resume templates keep that structure while giving languages, services and shipped systems a place that a keyword search can actually find. Pick a layout, replace the sample history, and export a PDF or Word file without creating an account.

Layout, not adjectives
The right template for this field is the one that puts the evidence a software engineer screen checks first in a document a parser can still read. Style is secondary.
Match the market
What belongs on the page
Lead with the languages and platforms in the advert. Depth in three shipped technologies beats a list of twelve you have touched.
Each bullet should say what you owned, what changed, and at what scale. "Responsible for microservices" is not evidence.
Add a project when it demonstrates a technology the job history does not. Tutorial repos cost credibility.
One line unless you graduated recently or the role asks for a specific degree. Certifications can sit in their own compact block.
From template to file
Choose a template from this page. Every design here keeps a single reading column and standard section names.
If the advert says Kubernetes, write Kubernetes — not "container orchestration". Parsers match literals.
Latency, cost, coverage, incident volume. Relative change is enough when absolute figures are confidential.
Download PDF or Word, open it, and check the text still reads in the order you wrote it. Then send it.
Questions
One page is enough under about five years of experience. Two pages are normal after that, provided the second page is not padding. The templates on this page reflow either length; they do not force a page count.
These layouts keep one primary reading column even when they use a skills rail. Dense sidebars, tables and text baked into images are what break parsing — not a modest accent column of plain text.
Only if the profile is public, current and readable. A maintained project with a README helps; a grid of forked tutorials does not. Put the URL in the header so it stays selectable text.
No. They are designed with ATS-friendly formatting principles — standard headings, selectable text, a predictable structure — but parsing still varies by employer, software and file settings. Check the exported file before you apply.
