1. About this policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used when you visit Resume Earth (www.resumeearth.com). It is part of, and should be read together with, the Privacy Policy, which covers the rest of how information is handled — including what is sent to an AI provider when you use one of the optional online tools.
2. Cookies and browser storage are not the same thing
Most cookie policies use one word for several different mechanisms. On this site they behave differently, so it is worth separating them:
- Cookies are small files a site or a loaded script writes to your browser, and that are sent back with later requests. Google Analytics uses cookies.
- Local storage stays in your browser and is never sent to a server. The resume builder uses it for your draft, so what you type is not uploaded just by typing it.
- Session storage works the same way but is discarded when the tab closes — used for short-lived drafts.
Clearing "cookies and site data" in your browser removes all three, which is also how you delete your saved resume draft from a device.
3. What Resume Earth stores in your browser
These entries are written by Resume Earth itself. None of them is a cookie, none is used for advertising, and none leaves your device on its own:

A retired key, resumeearth-analytics-consent-v1, is deleted automatically when the site loads: it belonged to an older accept/reject prompt that no longer exists, so nothing reads it.
4. Cookies set by measurement services
Every visit to Resume Earth is measured with Google Analytics (property G-2EHBMLCKBQ) so we can see which pages and tools people actually use. Google's tag sets first-party cookies on this domain:

Exact cookie names and lifetimes are controlled by Google and can change; how Google uses data on partner sites is the authoritative description. Google consent mode is declared on this site with analytics_storage granted and ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied, because no advertising runs here.
Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights
When the site is served from a Vercel deployment ( resumeearth.com and *.vercel.app), Vercel's measurement libraries record page views and performance metrics. Vercel documents these as cookie-less: a visit is identified from a hash of the incoming request that resets after 24 hours, rather than from a stored identifier. See Vercel's analytics privacy documentation. On any other hosting these libraries do not load at all.
5. Advertising cookies
None. Resume Earth currently displays no advertising, runs no ad network or ad exchange, and loads no retargeting pixel, affiliate tracker or advertising cookie. There is therefore no advertising consent to give or withdraw on this site, and the advertising signals in Google consent mode stay denied.
If that ever changes — for example if advertising is added to keep the tools free — this page and the Privacy Policy will be updated first, the advertising consent signals will be configured before any ad is served, and any consent mechanism required for our visitors will be in place before ads appear.
6. Services you trigger yourself
Some tools only work by sending the text you submit to a processing service. Those requests do not place cookies for Resume Earth, but the provider handles the request under its own terms and privacy practices:
- AI features — resume tailoring, job match, AI cover letters and the AI writing helpers send resume details or job text to Resume Earth's configured service and AI provider (which can include Groq, OpenRouter, Google Gemini or Hugging Face, depending on the deployment).
- Contact form — if it is enabled on the deployment you are using, the name, email, subject and message you enter are delivered through EmailJS.
- PDF generation — some deployments send the document to a configured PDF service; the in-browser export paths process the file locally.
Sharing a guide on X, LinkedIn or Facebook opens that network's own website in a separate window. No social-media plugin, widget or pixel is embedded on Resume Earth, so no social network can set a cookie here before you choose to click.
7. Your choices
- Delete your drafts: clear cookies and site data for resumeearth.com in your browser settings. Do this after downloading or backing up your resume — clearing storage is also how the draft is removed, and it cannot be recovered afterwards.
- Stop measurement: block third-party scripts in your browser or with an extension, or use Google's own Analytics opt-out add-on. Every tool on the site works the same whether or not you do.
- Limit storage: a private or incognito window keeps local and session storage only until the window closes.
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block cookies entirely, delete them on exit, or inspect what a site has stored. Blocking cookies does not stop you building or downloading a resume.
To be explicit about one control we do not offer: Resume Earth does not currently change its behaviour in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, because measurement runs for every visit. The options above are what actually stops it.
8. Changes to this policy
The list above changes when the site's tools, hosting or measurement change. When it does, this page is updated and the date at the top is revised. Substantial changes to how your information is handled are also reflected in the Privacy Policy.
